i need to get a new gi and was wondering if anyone has feedback on a good gi. I'll be honest i cant afford one of those $300 jobs but im just after a good quality reasonably priced and good wearing. ive noticed roling with others that soem gis are really stiff and have thick collars. are they better becasue the other thinkg i notice on them is that they seem to fray on the collar. thanks guys

ringsport make a good one about $160 most of the beginners even advanced guys get one

stiff is general worked out after you wash and wear it a couple of times

fray usually occurs with wear
depends on techniques being taught and types of fighters( ie hold cuff, sleeve, collar)
this is alos dependant on mat time
say average use 2 or 3 time a week gi lifespan 3-4 years
i have been doing bjj for close on 9 years
worn out 3 gis and now have about 4 jackets
sadly pants always wear first (for me especially knees go)

thanks Animal but $160 is too high for me. i was thinking of something around $70. I've also noticed they are different sizes,e ven though they say Size 4, the arms are shorter on some, also the sleeves are narrower and the pants are too short. Also any tips on how to stop the pants shrinking so much.
