I sent an email out and I should prolly be more patient but I wanted to ask if it was ok if I brought a camera along and filmed some of the bouts for an assignment for uni.

Some of the footage would be used in a current affairs package me and my group about mma (more specifically - explaining what mma is, its history and mma in perth)

I'm just not sure if yas take too kindly on that or not so thought id ask.

Sorry to bump this thread up about a year down the track, but did anything happen with this current affairs story? If not it would be awesome to do something like this now with MMA becoming quite high profile in Perth compared to this time last year.

yeah wilko youre right it would be a good idea to give a profile to local mma especially on a current affair show. but to achieve would become a huge task. its not just up to the school to let someone take footage you'd have to have their permission, sign a waver etc. Also people are fussy about their image being shown and most fight organizers have professionals filming it so they can sel the video but mma definetly needs more promotion. Wasnt' their that local tv channel Acess or something.
Maybe the mma industry likes the "bad" tag
